When only hardwood flooring will do

Offering one of the most timelessly elegant looks in flooring, hardwood remains highly sought-after, year after year. You can even tailor those looks a bit, to give it true personality in your own home. It’s also desired because of its extensive lifespan and the fact that once installed, you’ll probably never need to replace it. The flooring is also highly stable, very durable, and can easily stand up under the torments of a variety of everyday wear and tear. The fact that it adds so much value to your home then, whether you plan to keep or sell it, is to be expected.

At Framingham Carpet Center, our family owned and operated business works to the sole purpose of the complete satisfaction of our customers. That fact will shine through when you visit us at our Framingham, MA showroom. Hardwood has so much to offer

As an all-natural material, hardwood was made to stand up to the elements, so it’s no wonder it’s as durable a floor covering as it is. With the proper installation, protective coatings, care, and maintenance, they will perform in your home for many years to come. Selecting the properly rated wood species will allow you to experience maximum durability and is especially helpful for busy, bustling households. Finish options such as distressed or hand scraped also help to hide some of the more common signs of wear, such as scratches, scuffs, and dings.

There are two major divisions of wood flooring: solid hardwood and engineered flooring. Engineered flooring is still considered a member of this classification, but can be used in many different ways and in many different places than the through-body version. Engineered flooring can even be refinished a time or two, depending on the thickness of the veneer, giving it a much lengthier lifespan than you might expect.

It’s very important to note that solid hardwood flooring can never be installed in basement, or in any space that is below grade. It must also be acclimated for a time period of 24 to 72 hours before installation. Your flooring specialist can give you more details.
